Building practical skills for daily life, emotional wellbeing and recovery
Occupational Therapy forms an important part of your treatment programme at Life Poortview.
We focus on helping you build practical skills that support your emotional wellbeing, daily functioning and ability to engage meaningfully in your life beyond hospital.
Our groups are active, structured and skills-based, offering not just insight, but real opportunities to practise change in a supportive environment.
Occupational Therapy Groups
Our Occupational Therapy groups are practical, interactive, and skills-based.
They are informed by DBT principles and focus on helping you develop tools to manage emotions, cope with stress, and function more effectively in daily life.
You may learn skills such as:
- Managing strong emotions
- Coping with anxiety and distress
